Born in a respectable muslim family in the year 1947, Mr. Fazlur Rahman, a prominent personality in trade, commerce and industry in Bangladesh, has taken the responsibility as Chairman of Rahima Food Corporation Ltd. in December, 2017. By virtue of his education and hands-on experience he has emerged as one of the business tycoons in trade and industry of Bangladesh. He set up country’s largest conglomerates namely City Group having a number of Industrial Units for production of Edible oil, Sugar, Flour, Rice, Dal, Salt, Mineral Water, Poultry; Fish and Animal Feeds and also related industries like Printing, Packaging, Navigation and so many sub-sectors. He is the Chairman of the City Group. The Group has been diversifying its business in various sectors day by day under his able leadership. He is the founder of Asgar Ali Hospital Ltd., a modern hospital in old part of Dhaka City . He is the founder of Dhaka Insurance Ltd. and Director of Jamuna Bank Ltd. He is the Chairman of Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association and Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of Ministry of Commerce.
